Project
Extreme E
Extreme E is a pioneering racing series, showcasing electric SUVs and futuristic technologies in some of the world’s most remote and challenging environments. The series’ goal is to highlight the impact of climate change in some of the world’s most endangered environments, with its racing minimizing environmental impact while maximising awareness and positive impact.
Extreme E introduced Kaizen’s mobile, off-grid power module in the racing series’ third campaign to replace diesel generators. Kaizen’s power module is integrated into a microgrid with solar panels, back-up biofuel diesel generators and a 1MWh lithium-ion battery energy storage system. Kaizen’s power solution supplies up to 80% of the event’s energy needs.
The Extreme E racing series showcases Kaizen’s unique attributes:
Clean
- No NOx, SOx, or particulates emissions.
- Carbon neutral – Extreme E utilizes e-methanol produced from renewable energy, water and biogenic CO2.
Mobile
- Extreme E race events are staged globally in challenging environments.
- The power module is easily redeployed at the end of each two-week race event.
Off-Grid
- Extreme E race events are staged globally in remote environments, far from electrical grids.
- Power module provides up to 80% of a race events power requirements, including EV charging, TV broadcasting and hospitality tents.

Project
Los Angeles Deployment
A Los Angeles based customer is deploying Kaizen’s power module to replace a diesel generator onboard a vessel performing environmental remediation services in an environmentally sensitive area. Kaizen’s emission profile of no NOx, SOx, and particulates and its ability to scale to MWs of power make it a unique solution to replace diesel generators operating at this location.

Project
Element 1
Kaizen’s first power module is located in Bend, OR at the facilities of eElement 1. Element 1 is a key technology partner of Kaizen, supplying Kaizen with the methanol-to-hydrogen reforming technology that is integrated into our products. The Element 1 power module charges EVs operating at their facility and is a showcase for commercial applications of Element 1’s technology.
